Reporting directly to the General Manager, this extremely hands-on position is responsible for the successful management of the day to day restaurant operations and will liaise closely with the General Manager, Executive Chef, Financial Controller and other department heads to achieve operational goals.
To be considered for an interview, you will have a minimum of 2 years current experience in a similar role in a hatted restaurant and/or award winning property of similar quality. Experience is essential in:
- a la carte restaurant operations
- bar skills including sound wine knowledge and a valid RSA Certificate
- stock control, stock taking, ordering, cash control
- managing costs in line with budget/targets
- developing business plans, P&L\’s
This is a fulltime position requiring the applicant to work an irregular work schedule, including evenings and weekends.

You will have excellent personal presentation, strong communication skills and your ability to create great relationships with those you work with and our customers will be of the highest importance. A proven track record of past success in improving a business in key performance areas will be well regarded along with effective time management and attention to detail.
The successful applicant will have proven management and organisational skills, solid financial and budgetary skills and have the ability to lead and motivate a team. The position also requires an individual who can communicate effectively with department heads, staff, members and suppliers and who is well versed in human resources, staff training and development.
