“Exceed our expectations!!”We had stayed at Jonah’s nearly ten years ago, and enjoyed our stay but found it a little old fashioned & ‘clubbie’. So were we a little non plussed when we received a Xmas gift voucher from our children for Jonah’s. Our stay on Australia Day exceeded our expectations & we had a thoroughly enjoyable 20 hours.
Jonah’s had their annual party on when we arrived, which we had been forewarned so we couldn’t slip out on the terrace to drink our ‘complimentary’ Bollinger but saved it for our dinner reservation. Managed to see a few celebrities to add a little excitement.
We had a room in the seperate house which was away from the party & overlooked the pool to Whale Beach. I think it was cleanest motel room I have ever stayed in. It was immaculate & full credit to housekeeping staff.
Dinner was exceptional beginning [as mentioned] with the Bollinger & ‘complementary’ tasting plate. The rest of the three course meal [with ‘complimentary’ bread] was the same very high standard, & more importantly simply delicious. And once again, enjoying breakfast from the front window, the food was exquisite.
And to continue the excellence of our stay, all staff were professional, polite, friendly & engaging. From Yvette who welcomed us & then farewelled us, to the dining/wait staff. And whoever is recruiting is on a winning formula. Staff can really impact an experience, but Jonah’s staff only enhanced our stay.
At dinner, bed & breakfast rate of $1300+ for one night, it is not cheap. And I was a little sceptical on the ‘complimentary’ bits & bobs – I have paid for them all!!
Jonah’s is a special occasion place [well it is for us from the country] but we are determined to save our pennies & stay again…sooner rather than later.

“Jonahs Indulgance Package”My wife and I had a lovely time enjoying the amazing views, massages, food and the incredibly comfy bed. The staff at Jonah’s and the Sydney Sea Planes are nothing short of amazing and took care of us with every detail. Highly recommend.

“Beautiful stay”We recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary by staying overnight at Johah’s. From the moment we arrived and were greeted at reception, we knew this was going to be a special place. We have both lived in Sydney for a long time and never had the opportunity to experience Jonah’s before. After check in we were shown around the property, lots of lovely outdoor areas to relax in and it was great to see the restaurant full at lunch time. Our short overnight stay was just incredible, from the welcome Bollinger beside the fireplace pre dinner, the food and service at dinner was outstanding, especially the sommelier’s knowledge of the extensive wine list. Our room was lovely, very comfortable and of course the view is breathtaking. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and absolutely delicious, again the service was very good. A wonderful stay, everything was just beyond expectations and we will return soon. Thank you, and for the lovely gift as we departed.
“60th Birthday Celebration”WOW what a beautiful weekend celebrating my birthday with dear friends and my husband. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and informative. The food was outstanding

“First class awesomeness!”Gourmet Getaway for hubbys birthday. This is our 5th time dining at Jonahs..it is always a wonderful feast and the 6 course Gourmet with accompanying wines made this occasion so special for my husband (and me too of course). The hospitality is second to none..the loveliest staff ever! Our room had a beautiful view, comfortable bed and pillows, fluffy white towels, loads of space, clean and fresh and luxury toiletries worth taking home! The mini bar is the biggest temptation, its well stocked with so many goodies. We had such a fantastic stay, we’ve booked up for my birthday next month. Breakfast room service set us up for the day…absolutely delicious, top marks for the housemade granola!!. We were chuffed to get a visit to our table from Chef Frederico too. Worth every cent, looking forward to our return soon.
“Unforgettable 10th Wedding Anniversary”We recently stayed at Jonah’s to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We were lucky enough to receive the same suite – #1 – we had on our wedding night which brought back great memories. Jonah’s is the complete package – outstanding service (e.g. everyone who greeted us congratulated us on our wedding anniversary), superb location and facilities, the views and of course the food and wine is a true highlight. We were fortunate enough to meet with Federico Tidu (Executive Chef) and Niels Sluiman (Head Sommelier) over our amazing dinner! The Grilled King Prawns and Hiramasa Kingfish were light and flavoured to perfection. This was followed by the Wagyu beef and Roasted Lamb which was matched with some superb Victory Point Chardonnay from the Margaret River, WA and a perfectly full bodied Catena Zapata Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. We were both really impressed by the wine list, in particular the wine by the glass offerings. The desserts were equally delicious and washed down with a Royal Tokaji and a Sauternes Botrytis. The breakfast was also a highlight and executed with the same attention to detail and incredible flavours.
This is now our third stay at Jonah’s after getting married here in 2013, celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary in 2018 and our tenth in 2023. We intend to keep coming back every 5 years and we can’t wait to return to what is the benchmark for a boutique hotel and fine dining experience.

“Gourmet getaway”We both thoroughly enjoyed an overnight stay at beautiful Jonah’s. From the moment we walked in the door we were met with friendly staff, a fabulous room with a gorgeous view. The complimentary champagne on the deck was just the beginning. The 6 course degustation menu was superb and meeting chef Federico Tidu a bonus! The wine matched perfectly, even with the gluten free options my husband had to have and Georgina’s knowledge of each wine and region was excellent. Breakfast the next day was also first class and of course that view is always a winner. Thank you.
“Amazing experience”My wife and I had the most amazing experience with Sydney Seaplanes and Jonahs Whale Beach. The scenic flight from Rose Bay to Whale Beach was magnificent, the check in process was seamless and we really enjoyed the luxurious facilities of the Boutique hotel.
The views, the bar, the pool, the restaurant, the extensive wine list and did I mention the views! A sublime, private sanctuary.
The Degustation menu with matching wines was excellent and we really enjoyed the first class service from Nadir, Jezrail and Georgina the sommelier. Her knowledge of the wines that she paired with our foods really elevated our experience,
We were sad to leave on the return flight back to Rose Bay the next day but we shall definitely return.
“Outstanding Customer Service”From the moment we first arrived we were greeted by reception and made to feel very welcome and special. The individual service provided by every staff member we dealt with was absolutely exceptional and I have not experienced this level of customer service anywhere before. Could not ask for more! The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and the scenery was unbelievable and you never get tired of looking out over the ocean. We had dinner at the restaurant which was superb and had a very memorable evening. We will be sure to come back to Jonah’s once a year to really spoil ourselves. It was unforgettable.
“Great place to celebrate something special.”We were shouted an overnight stay at Jonah’s and we used it to celebrate our birthdays which are one day apart. What a fabulous place to stay. Great views from our beautiful room. The dinner was excellent with a good variety on the menu. The staff were exceptional, always attentive and making sure that we were enjoying our stay. Lovely gardens to walk through and the pool looked inviting. Very close to Whale Beach, but it is a very steep walk back!! Suggest you drive down to beach and save your energy. We highly recommend Jonah’s for any special celebration – just the two of you – leave the rest of the family at home!!

“What a pleasure”What a pleasure it was to spend my wife’s birthday at Jonah’s for the full degustation with matching wines and that incredible view to wake up to
“Perfection”I took my husband here for his 42nd birthday, and we stayed overnight and the entire experience was completely beyond anything I could have ever imagined. The Ocean Retreat room had beautiful decor and felt surprisingly spacious and the view from our balcony was out of this world. You could literally see the sunrise from the bed in our room and hear the waves crash, it was amazing! I also didn’t expect the food to be as good as it was, I thought it would be more about the experience but the actual food was incredible (the wagyu and cheese tortellini a highlight – as well as the desserts), we also loved the matching wines and the wait staff. The service over our entire stay was amazing, from the Bollinger delivered to our room on arrival, to the staff helping my husband push his old 356 Porsche up the hill as he had left the lights on and it needed to be jump started. We felt like we had been away all weekend, when really it hadn’t even been a full 24 hours, but something about the view and Jonah’s that completely relaxed us! We cannot wait to come back!!! “Excellent Mini Break”Our stay at Jonah’s was just the ticket, and the all inclusive diner + bed + breakfast package was great value. Our room overlooking Whale Beach was beautiful and well appointed. Dinner was delicious, and the staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. Thanks to a long morning walk and swim we were able to handle a very bountiful breakfast, with the croissants, jam and hot chocolate a highlight in a great staycation !

“Christmas Eve’ stay 2021”Such an amazing historic hotel perched high pver one of the loveliest beaches Sydney has to boast.
I really enjoyed the stay in a room open to wrap around views to soak up the sunset and sunrise enjoying good plonk and one of the yummiest meals I have enjoyed to date.
“Blissful Relaxation”Our daughter treated us to weekend stopover at Jonah’s with dinner and breakfast included.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were immersed in luxury.
Even though the weather wasn’t great, we enjoyed the beautiful waterfront vista, Martin braved a dip in the pool, the room had everything we needed and the spa bath was bubblicious.
All the staff were professional, friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious and the wine cellar impressive.

“Fantastic Experience – Faultless”Thank you so much Jonah’s for our truly memorable stay. From the moment we arrived we were treated so well by all the staff. We really loved our seafood platter lunch which had such beautiful attention to detail and was by far the most impressive platter we have had. We had the most beautiful corner table with suburb views and really enjoyed relaxing over a couple of glasses of wine and watching the world go by. Our room, which was near the pool, was lovely with everything we needed. We enjoyed our morning swim before a gorgeous breakfast taking in more of that suburb view. Thank you Jonah’s too for helping us with transfers and our special gift on departure. We had such a wonderful time and we will be recommending you to anyone who wants a unique dining experience and luxurious getaway. We just can’t wait to come back. Thank you again.
“Our 50 year anniversary celebration at Jonah’s”We took the opportunity to book an indulgent stay at Jonah’s to celebrate our 50 year wedding anniversary. It was great to be able to get out of lockdown and take this break. We were greatly impressed by the courtesy and friendliness of the staff, especially Julia at reception , who made us feel so welcome. We had a wonderful time, and enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant. The service was impeccable, and efficient. Our room was very comfortable, clean and well serviced , and the view was unbelievable. Our experience was as good as any venue and hotel we have visited, any where in the world. “Perfect Wedding Anniversary”Our second trip to Jonah’s and it didn’t disappoint. From the warm welcome at check in, the view from the room and quality of food and service at dinner and breakfast, this was the perfect way to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary. The attention to detail, professional yet friendly staff and feeling like you are well away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney make this a must visit location for special occasions, in our opinion. Welcome drinks on the deck over looking Whale Beach are a perfect introduction to Jonah’s and it only gets better – spacious rooms with ocean views, quality furnishings, little gifts and a relaxing atmosphere allow you to relax to the max. A real gem in Sydney .

“Fabulous spoil”Jonah’s has always been the place to go to for a celebration. The food is fabulous , the views are fabulous and we always feel like we have had a mini holiday even if it’s only been a day . Very special to stay as then we get to see the sunsets and sunrises as the views from all the rooms is wonderful.
Also with Covid and cancellations the staff have been great and kept in touch to re-schedule our stay when we could. They have been very helpful and understanding.
It was super to see the place busy and many happy faces enjoying it all again !! What a treat we have had .

“Enjoyable exquisite excellent”We highly recommend a stay at Jonahs. “Excellent experience”Fabulous getaway at Jonah’s, obviously the views are tremendous, the staff are very attentive but not in your face and the food & wine was great and very reasonably priced given the location of Jonah’s. We are already planning another weekend at Jonah’s and will try and entice friends along too. The ambiance and the ocean made for a very relaxing night way!
“Finesse”From the moment you step through the door you feel like you are at home. The attentive service of the staff is impeccable and genuine. The rooms are delightfully furnished with all modern day requirements and the views are superb. Then there is the restaurant, also with to-die-for views … from the pre-dinner cocktail as we idled through the menu choosing the courses, to the delectable food and on to the sticky with dessert the experience was perfect. Breakfast proved equally enjoyable and it was no trouble at all to vary a dish to accommodate my fussy palate. It has taken us a while to get to Jonah’s but we are so glad we did and we will be back. In the current age who can’t love an establishment that respects the apostrophe?

“60th wedding anniversary”Fabulous experience at Jonah’s celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary, which started at Reception with Julia, a lovely lady, who showed us to our suite which was booked for an overnight stay.
Julia explained how to use the control panel which operated the lights, curtains and tv. We then went to the restaurant for a delicious lunch with champagne and great wines with our bridesmaid and groomsman plus 5 other good friends. The service from all the staff was outstanding and nothing was too much bother. Breakfast the next morning was also delicious with a great view. We’ve had our 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries plus special birthdays at Jonah’s and it never disappoints us. Hopefully we will be back!!
“Above and beyond”I just wanted to say a massive ‘thank you’ for making my recent stay at Jonah’s such a great experience.
Even though my wife couldn’t join me (I’ll make sure she does when borders open up), you made sure I’d remember my 60th birthday.
So please pass on my thanks to those on the front desk, the folk who looked after me in the restaurant, the Maitre D’ and sommelier (who gave me expert advice) and the kitchen staff for such a fabulous culinary experience. I even saw some whales from balcony!
The whole experience went above and beyond – as did the great staff.

“Celebration of 3. Birthdays”I had the privilege of hosting lunch for 6 on Thursday 8/10:20 and stayed the night with our guests. This was our 3rd visit to Jonahs and it was fantastic with the service and attention to detail flawless. We will make this our regular retreat each quarter and our thanks to all of the great team who made our stay so special !

Dinner was exceptional with my husband saying he had the best steak ever and my chocolate mousse dessert was soooo good I didn’t want to finish it wishing it could go on forever compliments to the chef and staff. Breakfast this morning also superb again with the great views

“High class”Jonahs is a high class restaurant and accommodation. The service is exemplary accompanied by world class views. The restaurant staff are extremely attentive without being intrusive, offering a menu of well presented and tastes that are very comlementary. Me partner does not drink alcohol, accordingly a nonalcoholic welcome drink was offered without fuss. The rooms are well presented with good features.

Everything about our stay was perfect – the friendly and very helpful staff – who couldn’t do enough to make our stay special and memorable, the cleanliness and fabulous outlook of the rooms (one of my friends commented on a photo I shared with him that it looked like a picture from a magazine), and the great food. As we become more “experienced in life” food has become more and more important. The only complaint – four days just wasn’t long enough !!!
“Fabulous Holiday in a night”After eating at Jonah’s for many years ,this was the first time we decided to stay as it was a birthday celebration. It was fabulous and we felt like we had been on holidays . The fantastic views always remind us of the Amalfi Coast and the food is always memorable. Jonah’s is one of those places you just know you are going to have fabulous food ,but staying there was so much better than we expected – we will definitely be staying again as felt very spoilt. All the staff looked after us and already thinking of another reason to stay again.

“Brilliant”I’ve been dining at Jonah’s way back, prior it’s stunning renovations. This was the first time I stayed for 2 nights, it was wonderful, the views are breathtaking over looking Whale Beach. There is a trivial thing which the other guests may not feel so. We stayed in room 653, personally, I feel the two outdoor chairs are too big for the tiny balcony, which makes us hardly set foot in or move. Also, the glass door in the shower squeaks when opening or closing.
“Destination Celebration!”With the approach of our 30th wedding anniversary, we were looking for somewhere memorable to celebrate. We are so glad we chose Jonah’s. We spoiled ourselves with a two night stay, and enjoyed in house massages to help us unwind and feel pampered. Our dining experience was incredible – the seafood lunch we shared was amazing, matched only by the spectacular views from the restaurant. And I have to say that looking out across the ocean over breakfast was a wonderfully relaxing way to start the day. Add to all of this outstanding service from all of the staff – we cannot recommend Jonah’s highly enough!
“27 – 28 February 2019 Our 50th Wedding Anniversary at Jonahs”After much research and consideration, Pam and I decided to spend two nights to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary, last week, at Jonahs.
We hit the Jackpot!
Every aspect of our stay was of the highest order. With all our personal and business travels, I have never rated any place as highly as Jonahs.
The food was not only exquisite, but plentiful. The Management and Staff were attentive and considerate with no request or detail too difficult. The room was spotless and well appointed. The bed – Yes, A H Beard’s – was as comfortable as any we have experienced.
Words cannot adequately express the environment and the view. As dedicated Sydneysiders, we were still blown away.
Since returning home, we have not stopped singing the praises of all that is Jonahs.
90 years old? There certainly is no sign or age. Maturity, sophistication, solidarity, maybe. But she is still young, vibrant and ever ready to serve and satisfy.

“A Fabulous 35th Wedding Anniversary”Being interstate, Jonah’s came highly recommended from a friend & colleague who had previously stayed there and who had insisted we had to do the same. Jonah’s was the perfect fit for my wife and I to spend a 4 day weekend in Sydney. We took advantage of the Sydney Seaplane package and then stayed on for an extra night of what was one of the best boutique guesthouse experiences we have had in our life-time. Exquisite food, Bollinger ‘on-tap’, fantastic service and a brilliant room overlooking what would have to be the best location in the Northern beaches region. We took the local Palm Beach ferry up the Hawkesbury river to the Cottage Point restaurant which was a delightful day trip which we highly recommend. Now we have become the latest Jonah advocates telling all our friends north of the border that it is an experience they just have to have. Don’t miss out.
“Exceptional Day with the exceptional people at Jonahs”My wife and I have been coming to Jonah’s since around 1995. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christmases etc.
Sunday last, 23/9/18 we had wanted to celebrate our Anniversary at Jonah’s.
From the moment we walked in and were greeted by Mohan, Guillame and other staff it felt like we had come home.
Then as each course was brought around our spirits were further lifted by the deliciously gorgeous food of Matteo and his staff.
It meant a lot to us, not only for our reasons to celebrate or anniversary but to toast to my wife’s mother who we lost a few months prior. She would always be there at Jonah’s with us and had done since 2001.
All I can say is THANK YOU to everyone for being so professional, kind and friendly to us.

“World Class Experience!”Cannot speak highly enough of our experience at Jonahs! We have travelled to many beautiful destinations across the globe but who would have thought we would find perfection in our own backyard! “Our best dining experience ever”To celebrate my husband’s 50th, we stayed 1 night and dined at the signature restaurant. This was without a doubt the best meal we’ve ever had. The view from the restaurant and our room was spectacular.
The presentation of our room was simply 5 star. They even had heated flooring in the bathroom.
After a sensational dinner we had a great night sleep as the room as so quiet and comfortable.
The following morning to our surprise we had the most beautiful breakfast that was so healthy as well.

“Wonderful experience”My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on 7/5/18… we had lunch & dinner on the Sunday and breakfast on the Monday. The experience was impeccable from start to finish. The food from lunch through to breakfast was delicious and the wines were fantastic. The service was outstanding. All the staff at the bar, restaurant and hotel were professional and courteous.

“A beautiful stay!”My partner and myself had a wedding over the weekend in whale beach so what better place to stay then Jonah’s! We had such a beautiful time, everything was fabulous! The rooms are very spacious and the views from every angle are breathtaking.
The only complaint would be is our lunch scraps from room service we’re still in our room after we came back from the wedding late that night. Wasn’t very nice coming home to that, but it was a miss communication in housekeeping.
Everything else was A+

Hello, My husband and i stayed with you last night and wanted to tell you how delighted we were with our experience. First of all the customer service was EXCEPTIONAL, i would be highly commending all of your staff that were on this night as they were wonderful. From the staff who greeted us, and showed us to our rooms, to the staff that gave us our massages, to the staff who served us dinner through to the lovely staff on the other end of the line for room service to the staff who delivered our breakfast. It is RARE that you receive CONSISTENT customer service across all staff like that and awesome to see. the food was 5 star without a doubt and the little extras such as the chocolates in our room to the awesome bath bomb you provide to the candle on check out didnt go unnoticed.
I even noticed the gentleman who looked after us through dinner would make meal suggestions based on our general discussion of how hungry we were and even provided us small take away chocolates as we were leaving as he could clearly tell we couldn’t eat another thing at that point. very in tune with providing us a fantastic dining experience!!!
All in all we were completely impressed by our experience at Jonahs and will be shouting it from the roof tops to our friends and family!

My wife and I recently stayed at Jonah’s for our 20 year wedding anniversary. The entire experience from lunch to dinner and then breakfast the next morning was excellent. The food was delicious and the service from all staff impeccable. We were very impressed that our room was made while we were out to dinner – very impressive. Speaking of the room it too was unbelievable. It reminded me of my recent stay at the Atlantis in Dubai. Very well kept, spacious and a great balcony with a must see view of the ocean.
The whole trip was amazing and can’t thank you enough. The winter special also helped the bottom line as well.

Byron and I were married at Jonah’s in January of this year. Jonah’s was the perfect setting for our summer wedding, we could not have asked for a better place to be married. Everything from the food, to the staff, to the beautiful venue, to our room were exceptional! We loved the understated elegance of Jonah’s. The views of Whale beach and the ocean provided the perfect backdrop for our vows, with a rainbow even making a special appearance.
After our ceremony in the Jonah’s garden Byron and I went to the beach for some photographs while our guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails on the beautiful Jonah’s terrace overlooking the ocean. The dining room where we had our reception was the perfect size and set up to accommodate our 75 guests and created such an intimate feel from the speeches through to the dance floor. The food was exceptional, our guests absolutely loved their meals and did not stop raving about how delicious they were.
Our room was stunning and the perfect bridal suite, with special attention paid to the decor. The staff were also fantastic. They were professional and helpful throughout our stay and made our wedding day run seamlessly. Special mention to Emma who was excellent leading up to our big day. She is organized and always replied quickly to any questions I had. Byron and I look forward to spending many more anniversaries and special occasions there! Thanks to everyone at Jonah’s for helping to make our wedding such an incredible day, one we will never forget.

Jonah’s is beyond outstanding. The food, the quality of alcohol and the staff are second to none. They really make sure that your day is special and that you are looked after the entire time. There is no need to have a planner with Jonah’s because they take care of everything. Jonah’s is incredibly expensive, but you get what you pay for that is for sure.

Just wanted to thank Jonah’s for the most perfect wedding! Thanks to Emily and the staff for making our special day unforgettable.
The staff went above and beyond for us and were so professional and attentive all day/night. The food was excellent (dessert amazing!) and the view from the restaurant was amazing! It was the perfect space for our wedding. We enjoyed upgrading to the exclusive use package as we could dance the night away.
We also stayed at Jonah’s the night before and night of the wedding along with our family and wedding party. We were greeted with celebratory champagne to our room on arrival which was a nice surprise. The rooms were great with amazing views. We also had a big group table organised for the morning after breakfast which was a lovely touch.
It turned out to be our dream wedding – highly recommend this venue!
