Top Ten Things to do on Sydney’s Northern Beaches this Summer
December 16, 2019

Over the summer holidays our sleepy Whale Beach neighbourhood comes alive with Sydney weekenders, international visitors, and day trippers from the Central Coast who come to discover pristine beaches, tranquil bush trails, coastal dining and everything else that the far northern beaches has to offer. When staying at our luxury boutique hotel, you may find it difficult to tear yourself away from our peaceful oasis but we recommend our guests make the most of their time here by exploring the local area. These are our top ten tips for things to do on Sydney’s Northern Beaches this summer:

1. Cruise the Peninsula
There’s no better way to immerse yourself in our natural surroundings than with a cruise on a luxury Beneteau Oceanis Yacht. With the Jonah’s Stay & Play package you can enjoy the best of what the area has to offer. Indulge in a two hour cruise with a gourmet picnic hamper packed by the Jonah’s chefs and a bottle of Champagne Bollinger. Check in for an overnight stay in an Ocean Retreat room with a three course dinner in our hatted restaurant. Wake up the following morning after a blissful nights rest to a full a la carte breakfast in our clifftop dining room. Learn more about the Stay & Play package here.

2. Bird’s Eye View
At Jonah’s we are fortunate to boast unparalleled views of the Pacific Ocean and Whale Beach. Perhaps the only better way to take in the scenery would be from the air with Sydney Seaplanes. Take off from Rose Bay and touch down in Pittwater in just 20 minutes where a friendly Jonah’s staff member will retrieve you for a private transfer to Jonah’s. The flight offers a truly unforgettable experience with spectacular views from Sydney harbour, all the way to Palm Beach. Learn more here.

3. Take the high road
The heritage listed Barrenjoey Lighthouse of Palm Beach was one of the only existing structures in the area when Jonah’s first opened in 1929. The lighthouse is the most iconic landmark of Palm Beach having been built in 1881 on Barrenjoey headland- Sydney’s most Northern point. The uphill trail to the lighthouse is of moderate difficulty and takes about 30 minutes. Reaching the top will reward you with expansive views of Broken Bay, Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and the Central Coast. Learn more here.
