Good Food Guide Awards 2020
October 02, 2019

On 30 September 2019, at the annual Good Food Guide awards, this year held at Brisbane’s Howard’s Hall, Jonah’s was awarded one Chef’s Hat. We are very proud of the achievement having just celebrated 90 years of operation since Jonah’s opened in 1929, and having retained the Chef’s Hat for more than ten consecutive years. It was wonderful to be recognised among Australia’s best restaurants and chefs on the night, where the Australian food industry was celebrated.

“Top-line service and soaring views at one of Australia’s oldest fine diners- Chef Matteo Zamboni’s heritage is on display in Italian-ish dishes such as gnocchi, rich with confit duck and shiitake, while Mooloolaba king prawns are simply grilled to enhance a natural sweetness balanced by green tomato…” – Good Food Guide 2020

The fine dining experience that we offer at Jonah’s, atop the staggering clifftop of Whale Beach is synonymous with spectacular ocean views, exquisite food, complemented by an award-winning wine list. Our wine list was also nominated in the Good Food Guide Wine List of the Year category for 2020. We appreciate being recognised by the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide as earning a hat for our dining offering and will continue to provide our guests with the best experience possible when they choose to visit Jonah’s.

“We are thrilled with the results this year and we will continue to strive for excellence and improvment going forward”, says Executive Chef Matteo Zamboni.
