Whale Beach Accommodation :: Seaplane Experience

While Jonah’s is easily accessible by road from Sydney, the most memorable journey is definitely by seaplane.

After you take-off on the harbour from the exclusive waterside enclave of Rose Bay, your flight provides you with a truly spectacular view of Sydney’s famous cityscape. As the Harbour Bridge and Opera House slowly fade from sight, your pilot will steer the aircraft out over the sparkling Pacific Ocean for breathtaking views of the iconic beaches that Australia is famous for. The 12-minute flight gives you a majestic view of Sydney that not many locals have even experienced.

After circling past Palm Beach, Barrenjoey Lighthouse and Broken Bay your flight ends with a smooth water-landing on Pittwater; a safe-water haven for Sydney's many yachties. Jonah’s courtesy transport will be waiting at the jetty for the short trip to the retreat.

Depart Rose Bay mid afternoon and enjoy a spectacular scenic flight around Sydney Harbour's iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge before passing the Harbour Heads and tracking north to Pittwater. Jonah's friendly staff will meet you at the aircraft for the short transfer to the restaurant.

Upon arrival at Jonah’s, their expert Sommelier & his team will introduce you to a bottle of champagne from the oldest Champagne house in the world. The unique 375ml bottle is a replica of the original from the 16^th Century. Your tasting of this champagne will be accompanied by an antipasto plate for two guests.

Once you have finished your tasting and soaked up the stunning views of Whale Beach, you will be spoilt for choice with the introduction of a new A La Carte menu in the Restaurant. Enjoy a sumptuous three course dinner, including fresh seasonal produce focusing on seafood with Southern European flair.

At the end of your night a chauffeur from Town Cars will be waiting to transfer you from Jonah’s back to Rose Bay, or if preferred Sydney city and inner suburbs. Alternate drop off locations may be arranged for an additional charge.

Jonah's for Lunch

Perched high on the edge of a cliff, enjoying dramatic views of Whale Beach and the sprawling Pacific Ocean, Jonah's at Whale Beach is one of Australia’s most prestigious ocean retreats. Something of a Sydney institution, Jonah’s salubrious guest list has included Laurence Olivier, Anthony Hopkins, Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall. Departing Sydney Harbour late morning your seaplane flight tracks north past Sydney’s spectacular northern beaches before touching down in the expansive waterway of Pittwater. Jonah’s courtesy vehicle will meet you at the dock and transfer you the short distance to the restaurant. Jonah’s offers Southern European cuisine combining the best and freshest local produce. Diners are sure to be as impressed about the food as they are about the restaurant’s 180 degree views of the Pacific Ocean. Enticing you to leave such a stunning location is difficult, but we find the prospect of a glorious afternoon seaplane flight back to Rose Bay, encompassing a Sydney Harbour circuit in front of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House does it for most!
