Perhaps the only feature that can divert your attention from the stunning view at Jonah’s is the food. The award-winning Restaurant offers excellent Modern Australian cuisine under the direction of acclaimed chef George Francisco.
With a significant French influence, George’s style of cooking is anchored in his passion for fresh food and unparalleled knowledge of produce, method and style. George gained his extensive knowledge and acclaim working and training in a number of internationally renowned restaurants in the United States including ‘Stars’ and ‘Farallon’.
Reflecting Jonah’s unique seaside location, the seasonally updated menu focuses heavily on seafood. From a cellar containing over 2,500 bottles of vintage Australian and international wines, the extensive wine list entices and rewards.
Proudly, George and the team have earned many awards including a ‘Chef's Hat’ from the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007, as well as a ‘Bent Fork’ from Sydney Eats.

Matthew Evans, Good Living, Sydney Morning Herald, October 2005 ~ "As I see the plume of a southern right (whale) perhaps, through the enormous windows that face east over the ocean.....I've always like Jonah's, sometimes more than others......Now after a long-overdue refit, the place seems reinvigorated....During the day, the view remains as simple and sublime as you can get at a restaurant perched on what feels like a cliff top facing the ocean....Service is swift and caring......There's good news in the kitchen too....Jonah's has taken on George Francisco, who made his name locally at DISH in Newport, and before that set a much higher tone at the esteemed Farallon in San Francisco...Already he's helped lift the standard.....It's easy to celebrate with food like this........It's seriously, seriously good........dessert is the best course of all....Francisco's food successfully treads the fine line between foodie fantasy and conservative audience reality........it would be easy to beach ourselves here, curled around the booth........I hope it's not next spring before we pass this way again". Score: 15/20
